El Salto

Less than 5 minutes by car from the center of La Fortuna is this pool on the Fortuna River. It has parking space at the edge of the street.

Its name “El Salto” is because of the rope that is on one side of the river for people to jump like Tarzan. Many people jump and some even do tricks and turns, mostly locals who already know the place well. The perfect place to spend an afternoon, taking in the views of the El Salto Waterfall, swimming through the river’s turquoise waters, and soaking in local culture- all for FREE!
